International students can study either in Romanian or in English (at the Faculty of General Medicine, since 1997/98 and at the Faculty of Dentistry, since 1998/99) or in French (at the Faculty of Pharmacy, since 1996/97). In case they want to study in Romanian, international students have to take a language course first, either in their country, or in Timisoara. Those who want to study in English or in French, must pass a language test. The test can be taken in Timisoara, after having applied for admission.
The cost of studies:
-US $360/month for international students. They
must pay for three months in advance.

For international students of Romanian nationality
and for students receiving Romanian Government scholarships studies are
free.
Application documents:
1.Study certificate (The Baccalaureate Diploma or school graduation diploma), in the original
form and its translation into Romanian authenticated at the Romanian Embassy in the country of issue.
2. The Birth Certificate in original and an official
copy of its Romanian translation

5. For candidates from English speaking countries no English language test is required.
The candidates from other countries need an English language test.
The test language fee is 320$. This test is organized by our university. Romanian
translation can be performed also in Romanian, upon arrival.

The international students have the possibility to specialize (with or without regular attendance) or to take Ph.D courses (with or without regular attendance) at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Timisoara, for US $380/month.
Accomodation at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Timisoara costs between 40,000 Lei and 120,000 Lei/month for international students receiving Romanian Government scholarships and for students of Romanian nationality and between US$ 30 and US$ 90/ month for international students who do not belong to any of these categories.
In the year 1996/1997 there were 189 international students who graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Timisoara. 122 of them graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine, 56 from the Faculty of Dentistry and 11 from the Faculty of Pharmacy. At the moment, students from 43 countries (Greece, Serbia, Jordan, Marocco, Syria, Ukraine, etc.) study at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Timisoara. In all, there are 760 international students at the Faculty of General Medicine, 245 at the Faculty of Dentistry and 65 at the Faculty of Pharmacy. Ther also are 157 postgraduate international students, 92 of them taking specialization courses and 65 taking Ph.D courses.
