The Dean’s Word

The values promoted in a Europe and world of knowledge and competitiveness, in which human resources are an undeniable good, are landmarks of the educational process within the Faculty of Pharmacy, Victor Babeş University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timisoara, followed since its establishment in 1997. Although it is a relatively young faculty, our institution places itself in the first lines of education in the country.

The study programs within the Faculty of Pharmacy: PHARMACY (in Romanian, 5 years), PHARMACY (in French, 5 years), PHARMACY (in English, 5 years), MEDICAL COSMETICS AND TECHNOLOGY OF THE COSMETIC PRODUCT (3 years), and PHARMACY ASSISTANCE (in Deva, 3 years), are an integral part of the educational offer of the Victor Babeş University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timisoara. They are complemented by the offer of master’s studies, through the 5 specialized master’s lines (Cosmetology and Dermopharmacy, Pharmacovigilance and Monitoring of Clinical Trials, Pharmaceutical Industry, Applied Phytotherapy, Toxicology of Drugs and Plants with Psychotropic Effect), as well as by the postgraduate training line. Doctoral training (cycle III) in the field of Pharmacy can also be followed within the faculty. From this point of view, 19 professors with expertise in various areas of pharmaceutical sciences are qualified to conduct doctoral studies in the field of Pharmacy.

Our main mission is to train specialists in the pharmaceutical field capable of supporting and developing the profile activity at all levels (local, regional, national) and, as far as possible and internationally, through a training as complete and complex as possible. The main training has an impact in the field of medicines, being directed towards the conception, design, technology, pharmacotoxicology, analysis and advice on medicines. Part of the basic concept is also found in the research strategy of the University of which we are a part, having special relevance for the pharmaceutical field.

In a modern society, where there are no longer any economic and financial boundaries, results are based on value and performance. These aspects can be supported by a unit of measurement within everyone’s reach, hard work. Quantifying all these aspects represents success and we hope that our faculty provides the necessary skills and abilities to turn projects into reality.

We want the graduates of our faculty to easily find a place on the labor market and to be appreciated elements in society. I would like to remind all students and graduates that their value can be increased by acquiring key traits: learning, listening, competition, self-surpassing.
