The Vice-Rector responsible for educational/teaching matters has the following main duties:
a) Coordinates the activities of the faculties;
b) Ensures the operational management of the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee
c) Coordinates, guides, supervises and is responsible for all teaching activities at the “Victor Babeș” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara;
d) Serves as Chair of the Central Coordination Office for the admission competition for undergraduate and master’s degree programmes, and of the Central Coordination Office for the undergraduate degree examination;
e) Coordinates the procedures for: determining the educational provision; setting the student intake; organising and conducting the admission competition; organising and conducting the bachelor’s degree examination; preparing and issuing academic transcripts;
f) Manages staff and student travel abroad and monitors their activity reports upon their return, where applicable;
g) Coordinates university programmes, teaching activities, and the drafting and amendment of regulations concerning: undergraduate studies; postgraduate studies, in conjunction with the faculties’ deans’ offices; the drafting and updating of curricula and syllabuses; the implementation of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS);
h) Coordinates human resources management regarding:
i. drawing up the staffing tables for teaching staff;
ii. organising and conducting competitions for teaching posts;
iii. assessing the volume of teaching activities, the need for teaching staff and expenditure in each faculty;
i) Is responsible for the knowledge and correct application of legislation and regulations relating to the area under their coordination;
j) Establishes working procedures for the activities for which they are responsible;
k) Identifies the actions and activities necessary to achieve specific objectives;
l) Identifies, assesses and prioritises risks that may affect the achievement of specific objectives and establishes actions to keep risks within acceptable limits;
m) Monitors the achievement of specific objectives, analyses the activities carried out within the managed structure, measures and records results, compares results with the objectives to be met, and identifies deviations;
n) Evaluates the achievement of specific objectives;
o) Other duties delegated by the Rector.
