The Vice-Rector responsible for academic development has the following main duties:

a) Coordinates all activities relating to the development of the UMFVBT academic community and the implementation of the marketing strategy;
b) Coordinates, guides, monitors and is responsible for the university’s image;
c) Promotes the university by producing and distributing presentation materials in Romanian and in internationally recognised languages, both domestically and abroad;
d) Initiates the conclusion of academic and scientific cooperation agreements with universities in Romania and abroad and prepares the necessary documents and information for this purpose;
e) Analyses opportunities for the university to join domestic and international bodies in the field of medical and pharmaceutical education and scientific research;
f) Manages bilateral agreements concluded with partner universities abroad;
g) Manages staff and student travel abroad and monitors their activity reports upon their return from such trips, where applicable;
h) Coordinates the drafting of the necessary documents for the travel abroad of teaching staff and students and monitors their activity reports upon their return from such trips;
i) Coordinates the awarding of honorary titles to prominent figures in Romania and abroad;
j) Ensures the dissemination of information regarding domestic and international scientific events;
k) Coordinates the work of the Marketing Department, the Development Unit and the University Extensions Administration Unit;
l) Is responsible for the knowledge and correct application of legislation and regulations relating to the area under their coordination;
m) Establishes working procedures for the activities under their responsibility;
n) Coordinates subordinate services and departments in accordance with the university’s organisational chart, as approved by the University Senate;
o) Identifies the actions and activities necessary to achieve specific objectives;
p) Identifies, assesses and prioritises risks that may affect the achievement of specific objectives and establishes actions to keep risks within acceptable limits;
q) Monitors the achievement of specific objectives, analyses the activities carried out within the structure under their management, measures and records results, compares results with the objectives to be met, and identifies deviations;
r) Evaluates the achievement of specific objectives;
s) Other duties delegated by the Rector
