Research directions/opportunities:

The Methodological and Research Center for Medical Legislation, Malpractice, and Research Ethics stands as a hub of interdisciplinary academic and scientific excellence—dedicated to in-depth analysis, theoretical innovation, and practical grounding—situated at the intersection of legal studies, medical practice, and bioethics. The Center’s core mission is to develop a rigorous research framework capable of addressing contemporary legislative dynamics, the complexities of legal liability in medical practice, and the moral imperatives governing modern scientific research.

The scientific research activity within the research center focuses on the following major areas:

  1. The Evolution and Harmonization of Medical Legislation: Comparative analysis of legal healthcare systems, transposition of international directives into domestic law, and impact assessment of regulations concerning patient rights and the digitalization of medicine (e-Health, telemedicine, and artificial intelligence in healthcare).
  2. Risk Management and the Legal Dimensions of Malpractice: Studying the paradigms of professional liability for medical personnel, identifying optimal mechanisms for preventing medical errors, and optimizing procedures for mediation or the resolution of medical disputes.
  3. Scientific Research Ethics and Bioethics: Establishing the foundations of moral standards in clinical trials, the ethical regulation of emerging biotechnologies (genome editing, cell transplantation, biological databases), and monitoring academic and scientific integrity in the dissemination of research results.

The center offers a range of competitive opportunities for researchers, academic staff, doctoral students, and practitioners in the legal and medical fields:

  • Competitively Funded Projects: Access to national and international consortia for securing research grants in the fields of bioethics and medical law.
  • Publications and Scientific Dissemination: The opportunity to contribute to edited volumes, impact studies, and journals indexed in international databases, under the auspices and recognition of the center.
  • Institutional Partnerships: Strategic collaborations with hospitals, legal experts, medical professional bodies, and European bioethics centers, facilitating the exchange of best practices and interdisciplinary research internships.
  • Continuing Education and Postgraduate Programs: Development of specialized courses, workshops, and international conferences designed to update professional skills in line with the latest legislative changes and global ethical standards.
