“Victor Babes” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Timisoara, participated in the EFYE (European First Year Experience) Conference, that was hosted by the University of Szeged, between 10 – 12 June 2026 and was represented by Mrs. Agnes Balint, the Head of the International Office. The EFYE Conference focused on some major subjects that are essential for any university that has a large number of international students from more than 50 countries. Some of the most important aspects discussed were:

  • Developing resilience, adaptability and personal growth in the first-year transition
  • Broadening perspectives and fostering innovation in the first-year experience
  • Creating spaces for holistic development and student flourishing
  • Creating an institutional student success strategy
  • How can inclusive support systems be designed to meet the diverse needs of first-year student populations?
  • How can we develop first-year students’ critical thinking and digital literacy skills in an age of AI and information abundance?
